Angela Ahrendts is an American businesswoman. She is currently executive chairwoman of Burberry. Ahrendts, who grew up in New Palestine, Indiana, was born as the third of five children of an ex-model. Initially aiming to become a designer herself, she realised that she had more talent for the business side.

She graduated as a Bachelor of Marketing and Merchandising at Ball State University in 1981. Immediately after gaining her degree - she stated that she did her exam on one day and took the plane on the next - she moved to New York City where she began her career in the fashion business. After several jobs spent earning a reputation, she took executive positions at DKNY from 1989-1996, Henri Bendel 1996-1998 and Liz Claiborne as a vice chair 1998-2005. In all of these executive positions she was successful, managing to grow the brands and increase reputation during her tenure.

In 2006 she was chosen as Rose Marie Bravo's successor as CEO of Burberry Fashion house. In 2006, Ahrendts was ranked #76 in a list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women according to Forbes Magazine.
